Young Women’s Discovery Weekend – Girls 13 – 17 are invited to participate in a conference-style event on June 23 & 24 at a camp in Langley that will focus on self-esteem, relationships, empowerment, creative expression and leadership. Volunteer at Kerrisdale Community Centre – Seeking responsible, enthusiastic and motivated youth for summer day camps. Develop leadership skills while leading activities, supervising out-trips and mentoring children. Minimum commitment is one week, and training will be provided. ESL/ELL Parent Forum
Parents of ESL/ELL students are invited to an information and discussion session Thurs. May 31, 6:45 at Churchill or Tues. June 5, 6:45 at Vancouver Technical. There will be translators available.
YMCA Bike and Leadership Adventure Day Camp For students aged 11-15, you will learn about basic riding and mechanics, while developing leadership skills and making new friends. Two sessions will take place at the Robert Lee YMCA (downtown); July 23-27 and Aug. 13-17. Cost is $200. Register on-line at www.myymca.ca.
Science AL!VE Summer Camp Employment and Volunteer Opportunities – This program takes place at SFU, and is a fantastic opportunity for gaining experience in a position working with children. Volunteer positions are for students in grades 9 – 12; paid instructor positions are for those in grades 11 and 12.
