DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD PROGRAM
Attention students interested in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program. There is an important organizational meeting at lunchtime in the Career Centre (Room 218) at lunchtime. See Mr. Baxter
Young Women’s Discovery Weekend – Girls 13 – 17 are invited to participate in a conference-style event on June 23 & 24 at a camp in Langley that will focus on self-esteem, relationships, empowerment, creative expression and leadership. Go to www.discoveryweekend.ca for more information and to register. The cost of $155 may be offset by application for sponsorship.
Volunteer at Kerrisdale Community Centre – Seeking responsible, enthusiastic and motivated youth for summer day camps. Develop leadership skills while leading activities, supervising out-trips and mentoring children. Minimum commitment is one week, and training will be provided. YMCA Bike and Leadership Adventure Day Camp For students aged 11-15, you will learn about basic riding and mechanics, while developing leadership skills and making new friends. Two sessions will take place at the Robert Lee YMCA (downtown); July 23-27 and Aug. 13-17. Cost is $200. Register on-line at www.myymca.ca.
