Forum for Young Canadians – For 15 – 19 year olds, this program brings youth from across the country together in Ottawa for a week of activities relating to political process, community engagement and leadership. Cost of the program is $895, including transporation, accommodation and meals, and bursaries are available. Application deadline is June 30 to participate next school year. Encounters with Canada – This program is for 14 – 17 year olds, and provides an opportunity to visit Ottawa for one week during the school year. Each week has a different theme for activities, where you will meet youth from across the country and accomplished Canadians in that field. STUDENTS WRITING PROVINCIALS IN JUNE OR IN AUGUST. If you are taking or going to take a provincially examinable course and want to access your results; you must create an account at: https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student/ You will need your PEN which can be found on the top section of your school report card and is different than your student number.
Provincial Exams this Summer – Anyone eligible to write a Provincial Exam, and who wishes to do so this summer, but who is not taking that specific course during Summer School, may register to do so. You must go in person to the VSB Summer School Office, ground floor, 1580 West Broadway, now until July 12. You are required to bring your most recent report card and picture identification.
All materials borrowed from the library are now overdue. Lists have been posted outside the library and in the main hall outside the office. Please check for your name on these lists and return anything which belongs to the library ASAP.
Future Science LeadersProgram – Students going into grades 10 and 11 next year and who have an interest in science or technology are encouraged to participate in this exciting opportunity. Meetings take place weekly during the school year where you will experiment alongside other students and be mentored by leaders in the field. Details are available at
