Prerequisite: Social Studies 11, Civics 11, or First Nations Studies 12
Geography 12 will help students develop a sound understanding of geographic skills, knowledge and concepts. The course focuses on the characteristics, processes and interactions of the physical components of the Earth. These physical components are considered not only for their own inherent importance but also for the influences they exert on people’s activities (i.e., the ways in which the physical environment is used, misused and altered by humans).
Geography 12 guides students to examine important issues that affect the world of the 21 to motivate students to focus on their personal responsibilities as citizens in a rapidly changing world.A variety of evaluation methods will be used including large unit exams, quizzes, homework assignments, field studies and a research project.
