Essentials of Mathematics 9

Prerequisite: Principles of Math. 8

This course is designed to help those students who find Principles of Mathematics 9 difficult. One third of the course time is devoted to strengthening and further developing arithmetic skills with whole numbers, common and decimal fractions and irrational numbers. Other areas covered include data analysis, probability, geometry, measurement and an introduction to algebra. The Essentials Pathway meets the graduation requirements, but does not meet the requirements for entrance to university.
