2009/2010 FIRST TERM HONOUR ROLL CALCULATION

Students taking five or fewer qualifying courses are not eligible for the Honour Roll. Non-qualifying courses Business Admin, Assistant 12, Community Service 11, Distance Education (correspondence) courses, Vancouver Learning Network (VLN), Grad Transitions, and ungraded courses.
HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR AVERAGE
Total your percentages and divide by the number of subjects. If your average is 80% or higher, you should be on the Honour Roll List. If your average is 90% or higher, you should be on the Principal’s List. For example:
STEP 1: Calculate your total percentage points as follows:
8 SUBJECTS PERCENTAGE
English 75
Socials 60
Science 80
Math 86
French 87
Art 89
PE 92
Textiles 94
TOTAL: 663
STEP 2: Divide the grade points by the number of subjects. 663 divided by 8 subjects equals = 82.875
STEP 3: This is your AVERAGE (82.875). Check to see if you are in the honour roll range or the principal’s list range:
HONOUR ROLL: 80 - 89%
PRINCIPAL’S LIST: 90 - 100%
