Literature 12

Below follows the course information for literature twelve, as provided by the course planning guides.

Prerequisite: English 11 (EN11)

Fees: $15 for a workbook (optional)

This course surveys English literature and the social,
political, and economic history from the time of the Anglo-Saxons up to
and including the Modern Age (approximately A.D. 450 to 2000). It is an
English literature survey course only and as such the emphasis is
placed on a broad approach to many writers rather than an intense study
of a few. This course focuses mainly on poetry, but plays and prose
will be studied as well. Students in large group seminar situations
will read and discuss the literature, write essays both in and out of
class, and make oral presentations in class.
