Music Outreach

This year at Point Grey Secondary, a new club was formed called the music outreach club. It has been very successful this year with the help of teacher sponsers and Shanna Yeung, in grade 9, who is the club leader. Students in this club volunteer at the Louis Brier Senior Home. The residents at the home have been delighted with the music the students of Point Grey have performed.

If you love music, know how to play an instrument, and would like to brighten someone's day at the senior home with some music, email Shanna at [email protected].

Return Your Overdues, or the Library will be Doomed!

With only a week of school left, it is crucial that you return your library books! Mrs. Patrick and Mr. Lloyd are expecting that all of those books will be returned this year, so let's not let them down! Students will also want those books back, as they would like to read them as well. If you don't return them, not only will the library have to buy new ones to replace them, but you will have to pay the full price of the book! There are several remarkable books in our library, and hopefully they will all be returned. If you are unsure about whether or not you sill retain overdue books, just check the yellow list posted outside the library. If your name is on it, please be sure to return the book(s) as soon as possible through either the slot in or outside the library. If you don't, you will not be receiving your yearbook on June 22nd during homeroom!

Building Blocks!

Do you guys remember when you were little? When playing with lego and blocks was the best part of the day? Well, the lucky grade 9 art class gets to go back in time before homework and drama and just build!! With blocks and poles and paint and glue, they have to create an art piece. Using hammers and saws and just plain balance, these works of art are turning out to be very impressive with incredibly unique ideas i bet you've never seen before. These sculputures are being finished and you should look out for them in the cases around school, you might just feel like going back into your old childhood toys to see what kind of things you can build!
